A couple portrait and a spontaneous moment with your guests serve different purposes. The portrait gives you space together; reportage records the celebration around you. How do you make time for couple portraits?

Start with the fixed parts of your day: the ceremony, reception and meal. Then consider when you would like to step away for portraits and which settings matter to you. Allow for travel between locations and a little breathing room. There is no single portrait-session length that fits every wedding; your priorities and schedule should guide the decision.

During portraits, I offer guidance on posture, movement and light. You do not need experience in front of a camera. During the celebration, I follow the interactions as they happen. This gives considered portraits their own space without turning the whole day into a photo shoot.

How can we plan family and group photographs?

Before the wedding, list the groups you would particularly like to photograph together. A short list and someone who knows your guests can help everyone gather. Choose a moment when the people involved will be in the same place. Alongside these planned group portraits, congratulations and conversations remain a separate part of the reportage.

What should you include in your first enquiry?

Your date, planned venues in Vienna and the parts of the day that matter most are enough to start. Feel free to mention photographs from this story that appeal to you.
