The brief establishes which shots and how many finished images you need. It also covers editing, delivery formats and your publication date. Selection and approval need a clear process too. Revisions and delivery dates are agreed for each project rather than assumed to be the same for every production.

Beauty photography focuses on a face, skin, hair or makeup on a model. Product and still-life photographs focus on the object itself, such as a cosmetics jar or piece of jewellery. A brand may need both. List them separately in the brief so lighting, team and shot requirements can be planned accordingly.
